The Province of Ontario has officially awarded the first major civil and utility contract for the highly anticipated Hamilton Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. The Hamilton Transit Alliance\u2014a consortium featuring Aecon Infrastructure, Hatch, Egis, and Systra\u2014has been tasked with a massive infrastructure overhaul. This scope includes 14 kilometres of sewer and road reconstruction, 16 kilometres of watermain upgrades, and the modernization of 62 traffic signals along the 14-kilometre corridor from McMaster University to Eastgate Square.<\/p>\n
