North York’s skyline is getting a new addition as 4800 Yonge Street, a 49-storey rental residential tower by Menkes Developments, has emerged above grade at Yonge and Sheppard. Designed by Arquitectonica and B+H Architects, the project overcame significant technical challenges due to a curving subway tunnel beneath the site.
After a prolonged below-grade phase, the building’s concrete structure is now three storeys high, showcasing the beginning of its distinctive form. The development features a seven-storey podium with a unique curved canopy. Once complete, 4800 Yonge Street will add 498 rental units to the area, standing at 168.24 metres.
