Toronto has lost one of its most celebrated architectural sons. Frank Gehry, the visionary behind iconic structures worldwide, passed away at 96. While his global impact is undeniable, Toronto holds a special place in his legacy with projects like the Transformation AGO and the highly anticipated Forma towers.\n\nGehry’s return to Toronto with the AGO expansion in 2008 revolutionized the gallery experience, creating a more cohesive and accessible space for art lovers. Currently under construction, Forma, a two-tower residential development at King and Duncan streets, represents Gehry’s most ambitious Canadian commission. The East Tower showcases a unique \”waterfall\” effect created by alternating smooth glazing and faceted metal surfaces.
