The St. Lawrence neighbourhood is undergoing a significant transformation as construction begins on the David Crombie Park Revitalization. Spanning 1.6 hectares from Lower Jarvis to Parliament Street, this project marks a shift toward sustainable, preservation-led urban design. Led by Arcadis and SLA, in collaboration with the City of Toronto and Tawaw Architecture Collective, the initiative focuses on upgrading aging infrastructure while maintaining the park’s established character.
Sustainability is the project’s cornerstone; by prioritizing existing materials over demolition, the design achieves carbon neutrality in just 13 years—saving approximately 560 tonnes of CO2.
