The Magellan Centre, a seven-story seniors housing and long-term care facility in Toronto’s Bloordale neighborhood, is nearing its topping off. Located just north of Lansdowne station at 640 Lansdowne Avenue, this project by CreateTO and Magellan Community Charities will deliver 57 affordable rental housing units for seniors and 256 long-term care beds.
The development is part of a City-led initiative to accelerate affordable housing by utilizing public land. The Magellan Centre combines much-needed senior care and housing near transit, contributing to the ongoing efforts to address housing challenges in the GTA. Construction has progressed rapidly, with the exterior to feature a combination of brick, aluminum panels, and glass.
